What we collect
- Your recording — the audio or video you choose to submit, and a text transcript generated from it.
- Your email address — used only to verify that a real person submitted the recording. It is never shown publicly or sold.
- What you choose to show — an optional display name or alias and a rough location, only if you provide them.
- Technical safeguards — to prevent abuse, we store a one-way hashed (irreversible) form of your IP address and browser identifier. We do not store these in raw form.
How your recording is used
Every submission lands first in a private, secured archive. A recording is shown on the public wall of voices only if you opt in to public display and a human reviewer approves it. Without both, it stays private.
Consent
We record the specific consent you gave, the version of the consent text you agreed to, and when. You always grant archival consent; public display is separate and optional.
Your rights
You can review and permanently delete your own recordings yourself at any time — wherever you live — from the Manage your recordings page (verify your email and delete with one click; this removes your recording from both the private and public archives and deletes the underlying files). You can also email privacy@humanvoiceproject.com for any access or deletion request.
Data handling
- Recordings and transcripts are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
- Email delivery is handled by Resend; abuse-prevention by Cloudflare and Upstash.
- Transcription and automated safety screening use ElevenLabs and Anthropic; your media is sent to these services only for that processing.
- We do not run advertising trackers or sell any data.
Age
This archive is for adults. By submitting, you confirm you are 18 or older.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, note it on the site.
